"Umbrella bags Reduction Accreditation Program" 2019 is now OPEN for application!
Greeners Action is now inviting properties management companies and their fellow properties (including commercial centers/buildings) to participate in "Umbrella bags Reduction Accreditation Program" 2019. According to the survey done before, some properties could provide alternatives, apart from providing umbrella bags, to avoid slippery floor. The alternatives may include placing carpets, placing electrical ground blowers, setting up umbrella spin dryers, allocating more cleaning staff, setting up umbrella stands and recycling used umbrella bags, etc. Those alternatives not only could avoid abusing umbrella bags, also be prepared well for municipal solid waste charging scheme. What’s important, to save cost for the properties companies and to save our Earth!
Greeners Action would undergo on-site audits to the properties and evaluate their performance on reducing usage of umbrella bags. For those properties companies which are satisfied, Greeners Action would invite the companies to an award presentation. A certificate would be given to the awarded companies and also an awarded signage sticker. The companies could put the sticker at the entrances of the properties and let the public to identify it.
