More than 90% of people chose veggies and fruits without plastic wrappings if given a choice
Greeners Action has conducted a street opinion survey from March to May in 2019, to follow up the last-month release of ranking list of “the most plastic addiction” supermarkets. The purpose of the survey is the raise the public awareness of plastic wrapping generated by supermarket chains locally or on-site and hasten the supermarkets to stop the excessive packaging right now to avoid the wasteful of plastic.
Of the 902 citizens we interviewed successfully, 75% of the respondents agreed that there is an over-packaging problem in the fruit and vegetable sections in the supermarkets. Over 90% of the respondents would choose to buy fresh food without packaging if they were given a choice.
