Showing creativity in reducing use of plastic bag, turning jacket into shopping bag, 6 brands signing charter to reduce bakery-used plastic bag
Since the implementation of the levy scheme of plastic bags, the running is generally smooth, the more awareness is built, the smaller number of plastic bags used. The Greeners Action in this year April, conduct survey on creative ways of reducing use of plastic bags, 71 submission products are collected. Some could turn jacket into reusable shopping bags, while some could reuse tissue paper plastic bags. The Greeners Action praised the submission products for the creativities, some of them worth promoting to the public. On the other hand, the charter on reducing use of plastic bags for bread has extended to 6 brands, totally 45 bakery shops. It is hoped that more business trade could pledge to reduce use of plastic bags for our environment.
To explore more ways to reduce use of plastic bags, the Greeners Action from 15th April to 15th May this year, conduct survey on creative ways of reducing use of plastic bags, inviting people to submit their ways of reducing or reusing plastic bags. The competition received great response; the submissions from a lot of people cover elements of reducing, reusing, upcycling, showing good related awareness has already been instilled in the quotidian lives. Among the awarded products, many are creative; they include using jacket as bag, or simply taking new shoes by shoes string. For the use of bakery plastic bags that are now exempted from law requirement, many people are self-aware enough to bring their own utensils to reduce use of plastic bags.
