85% respondents think that it’s no need to have package for fruit and vegetables
In order to understand the situation of over packaging of fruit and vegetables in supermarkets and feedbacks of citizens on over packaging products, Greeners Action interviewed 874 citizens on the street in July. It is found that 86% respondents agree that the situation of over packaging of fruit and vegetables in supermarkets is critical and that the supermarkets are responsible to the waste produced. Secondly, 85% respondents think that it is not necessary to have package for fruit and vegetables.
Greeners Action announced the detailed investigation results today. Members of Greeners Action, brought along slogans and banners, together with a giant waste ball made of 300 collected packaging wastes, went to the PARKnSHOP in Sham Shui Po and submit the suggestion to force the supermarket to shoulder the responsibility of using plastic abusively.
