 According to the Stage 2 Public Engagement for Tung Chung New Town Extension Study launched by the Development Bureau in May, 2013, Greeners Action has expressed various comments towards the development of Tung Chung. First, the development of Tung Chung should corporate with the holistic development of Lantau Island. A holistic report, together with a strategic Environmental Impact Assessment report, should be conducted so that we can see clearly whether the project is feasible based on any potential damages cumulated to the natural environment due to the construction and also prevent any resource wastage due to resource repetition during development. Second, as the waters outside Tung Chung Esat is the habitat of Chinese White Dolphins, if the government continues to restrain their foraging area, disturb their habitat and threaten their lives, the Chinese White Dolphins will disappear permanently from Hong Kong waters shortly.
