Kwun Tong Food Waste Reduction Program Closing Ceremony cum “Clean it up, get a prize” Prize Presentation
Greeners Action collaborated with Environmental Protection Department, Kwun Tong District Council and Sun Hung Kai Properties launched a 2-year food waste reduction program from July 2011. Different activities were held within the 2-year program such as “Clean it up, get a prize”, “Competition of Good Food Waste Reduction”, activities on recycling food waste at source and installment of food waste processor in the district. All these activities contributed to the 8% daily reduction of food waste and 108 tons food waste recycled, alleviating the burden of existing landfills. The closing ceremony of the program was held at APM today. In the ceremony, the investigation report on the effectiveness of “Clean it up, get a prize” program was announced.
