 In order to educate primary school students on the concept and importance of treasuring food, Greeners Action, together with Green Power and Food For Good, held the Zero Food Waste @ Campus in the 2013 school year, with the sponsorship from the New World Group Charity Fund. The plan aims at assisting students to develop a habit of cherishing food and learn how to the knowledge on reducing food waste in practice. More than 5,000 students from 22 schools, including 19 primary schools and 3 secondary schools were enrolled in the plan(see appendix 1). The prize giving ceremony of the plan is held today (9th July) at Po Leung Kuk Women's Welfare Club (WD) Fung Lee Pui Yiu Primary School. During the ceremony, different awards were presented and the effectiveness of the plan was also announced.

Today, Greeners Action held a prize giving ceremony of Zero Food Waste @ Campus to announce the effectiveness of the plan and also award the ten winners of the best slogan competition of the junior primary group and another ten of the senior primary group. Students, who win in the competition, and their parents will be invited to a day tour to an organic farm on 14 July. They will have a chance to experience an organic lunch, share their award-winning ideas of their slogans, their environmental tips and the fun of farming by themselves.

On the other hand, Greeners Action also awarded trophy to the most actively participating schools (including the Po Leung Kuk Women's Welfare Club (WD) Fung Lee Pui Yiu Primary School, the Good Counsel Catholic Primary School and the Anglican Association Heze Yun Primary School), and awarded awards to the slogan students to different school representatives, including The Anglican Church, the Christian Primary School, the Catholic Good Learning Primary School and the SKH Ho Chak Wan Primary School). Meanwhile, prizes of the slogan competition were presented to the representatives from the the SKH Fung Kei Millennium Primary School, the Catholic Good Learning Primary School and the SKH Ho Chak Wan Primary School to encourage the winning students from the corresponding schools. The awarded schools and the winning students were invited to share their experience in reducing the food waste and to read out their winning slogans respectively.
