Strongly against the artificial beach construction in Lung Mei
Greeners Action and others environmental groups at noon on 12th October presented a petition at the government headquarter to express the objection towards the construction of artificial beach in Lung Mei. Once the construction starts, more than 200 species will be affected including starfish Archaster typicus, goby Amblygobius phalaena and crab Epixanthus frontalis. Meanwhile, the water of the relative area has already been seriously polluted to an extent which is not suitable for citizens to swim. It is impossible that the government still insisted in spending 200 millions to build a beach with no value. Greeners Action urges the government to listen to the society and suspend the construction project.
