The Debate Competition on Food Waste Policy has been successfully held on 12th October. It is one of the major events of the “Zero Food Waste in CityU” campaign. We would like to express our appreciation to Dr Michael Leung Kwok-hi, Associate Dean of School of Energy and Environment at CityU and Mr. Angus Ho, the Chief Executive of Greeners Action for being our judges despite their tight schedule. Based on the topic “Government should legislated to mandatory domestic food waste sorting and recycling at source.”, students from the affirmative and the negative side had performed an intense debate. Eventially, the affirmative team won the competition. Although there is only one winner, it is more important that the competition can initiate the students to think about the food waste problem.
