Found by the Environment and Conservative Fund, Greeners Action, collaborated with the City University of Hong Kong, organised the “Zero Food Waste in CityU” campaign in the school year 2012-2013.

The “Zero Food Waste Week”, starting from 25th September to 29th September, aimed to promote a habit of treasuring food within the teaching staff and students at CityU and to ease the environmental problems brought by food waste. The campaign also proposes to reinforce staff and students’ concept of reducing food waste and to enrich their knowledge on reducing and recycling food waste.

The “Zero Food Waste Week” contained activities including the opening ceremony, Lunch with Zero Food Waste, a tongue-twister competition and a debate competition. Moreover, students can also upload their “Zero Food Waste” photos with no leftover after a meal to the “Eat with No leftover every day” Facebook page of Greeners Action (www.facebook.com/savefood) to win a eco-friendly gift.
