“One day to go: “Electric car parade for plastic bag levy”
The plastic bag levy scheme is going to start on tomorrow 07th July, 2009, for promoting the scheme, the Greeners Action would hold a campaign called “Electric car parade for plastic bag levy”, hoping to remind citizens to get ready to bring their own bags.
The campaign gained support of every sectors of society, the present guests were the Secretary for the Environment Mr. Edward Yau, Chairman of Legislative Panel on Environmental Affairs Ms Audrey Eu and vice-chairman of Legislative Panel on Environmental Affairs Mr. Gary Chan, representative of China Resources Vanguard Mr. Ding and green ambassador artists Mr. Louis Cheung, Ms. Mavis Fan, Mr. Paul Wong and Mr. Joey Leung. They together held the opening ceremony for the campaign, unveiling notice of supporting plastic bag levy scheme by bringing own bag, setting a milestone of environmental protection.
Guests later took the “Greeners”electric vehicle”, starting from Sheung Wan to districts in Hong Kong Island. During the journey, they and volunteers loudly called the slogan”Get ready for the plastic bag levy scheme on 07th July, 2009 by bringing your own bag”. People around showed positive response to the campaign.
