9 more days to go for plastic bag levy scheme, “Bicycle parade welcoming plastic bag levy”
There is only nine more days from the official implementation of plastic bag levy scheme, the Greeners Action, today 28th June, 2009, held the “9 more days to go, bicycle parade welcoming plastic bag levy, which is aimed at reminding people to get prepared for the upcoming plastic bag levy scheme, so they could bring their own bag to save money, the more important is to develop a habit from this change, as a start to reduce waste in daily life.
The Greeners Action grouped about 25 bicycles being a team and started at Hong Kong Clock Tower in Tsim Sha Tsui, paraded along the Nathan road in Yau Ma Tei and Mongkok. Every bicycle was designed by volunteer with flag supporting the levy scheme, during the parade volunteer yell out the slogan : Bring your own bag to support the plastic bag levy scheme on 7th July, 2009”. Its appeal successfully drew public attention. The Greeners Action expressed that the parade,“No plastic bag day” as well as the levy aim at encouraging people to develop habit from daily life, so to cherish natural resources.
