To promote “Food Wise” habit, the Greeners Action initiated “Food Wise Day in primary school” across the territory, allowing primary school students in Hong Kong to understand the problem of food waste, as well as experiencing “Food Wise” so to adopt it later on. The meaningful campaign needs your support, details of campaign are as follows.

Activity date: 17th December, 2008 (Wednesday)
Activity detail:
1. On that day, school play a video provided by the Greeners Action about food wastage to the student before lunch, letting them to understand problem of food waste in Hong Kong, and so to put reducing food waste into practice during lunch.
2. Student who finishes the whole lunch box without leftover on the “Food Wise Day” could receive certificate as reward for them to pass the green message to their family.
3. Principal and teachers are requested to fill in questionnaire to reflect situation of food waste on “Food Wise Day” and compare it to that on normal day.
4. Primary school participating in the scheme would coordinate with lunch supplier to evaluate students’ intake need of different forms in order to adjust the serving portion. For example, providing junior students with smaller sized lunches while adding is available when there is a need.
5. We would send advertising posters to participating schools to strengthen educational effect.
