The Greeners Action (previously as Green Student Union) together with California Red Holding Limited
held the “Love music Love Green” opening ceremony today, for the starting of “Food Wise campaign”.

Food Wise campaign “Love music Love Green” is the first food waste reduction campaign held by the Environmental Group United Catering Group. Starting 15th July, 2007, all California Red Holding Limited shops will implement a series of food waste reduction measures, reminding people to be green through various ways. The first example is the “Less rice for $1 Less” scheme in which customers could enjoy one-dollar discount by ordering “less rice” and have one-third reduction of amount of rice. Another is food refill upon 95% of them taken in buffet, the aim is also to reduce food waste during frequent food refill. The last is by using tableware that is reusable, to reduce the disposal of disposable tableware. Posters, stickers and advertisements are present for reminding customers.

Also, we invited actress Karenea Lam and singer Cheung Ka Ming as “Food Wise” ambassador, leading people engaged to promise to be “Food Wise”, saying they would not waste food from the time being.

“Green Student Union” took this opening ceremony as opportunity to rename itself as “Greeners Action”, promoting spirit of environmental protection to the public. The meaning of “Greeners Action” is pushing young generations forward to caring environmental protection and society, enabling them to become green leaders in the future thus leading society to a pollution-free green zone.
