“Sand Wars” movie cum sharing session on 4th April, 2019
It seems sand are normal, common, however, it is crucial to humans’ prosperity. Not only for reclamation, buildings, roads and electrical appliances also consist of sand. Unfortunately we did not realize the importance of this resource until the occurrence of large-scale reclamation for 3-runway, east Lantau island projects in Hong Kong.
Every shocking scene and piece of information tonight is pointing to the harm caused by the competition of sand by countries. It is hoped we could remember this feeling tonight and so spread the message of the harmfulness of unlimited development out, besides caring for social issues.
