Regarding the public participation on "Regulating Single-Use Plastics" held by the Council for Sustainable Development, Greeners Action recommended that the legislative process be initiated in the short term (in the next three years) to implement a complete ban or restriction on the use of single-use plastics, and that legislation be required to regulate the use of disposable plastics containing " Microbeads" products, it is also required that plastic products sold in Hong Kong must use a single plastic raw material as much as possible, and the recyclability or recycled content of the product should also be clearly marked to help consumers identify it.

Regarding the levy on shopping plastic bags, we believes that it is necessary to set the ultimate goal of completely banning shopping plastic bags, and the implementation time should be no later than 2025. In the next three years, the plastic bag levy level should be increased from the current HK$5 cents to HK$2.
