"Umbrella Bags Reduction Accreditation Program" 2022 is now OPEN for application!
Greeners Action concerns the single-use plastic umbrella bags problem in Hong Kong since 2017, and glad that 83% of respondents support the control of umbrella bag, from the Council for Sustainable Development’s result of public engagement on control of single-use plastics. The other hand, there is property management company stops providing umbrella bags across its shopping malls early this year. It showed the momentum on plastic reduction in society.
Aim of "Umbrella Bags Reduction Accreditation Program" is to encourage property managements provide alternative eco-friendly options to reduce/ stop the use of umbrella bags in rainy days. The program also for customer to recognize the environmental friendly shopping malls/ commercial buildings/ housing estates. Greeners Action will provide on-site auditing and suggestions to the property management if any. This year, we are helping the property management facing the latest policy and striving for excellence, Diamond Level was firstly introduce to appreciate the shopping malls/ commercial buildings/ housing estates which stop providing any umbrella bags during rainy days.
