Naked Shopping Promotion/ Greeners Fusion

 Greeners Action, the local green group that has been actively advocating sustainable spending, hosted the 2nd "Zero Packaging Fiesta" from October 7-8 at Yau Man Square, Kwun Tong. Almost 40 stalls facilitating refill shopping (or naked shopping) of nearly 100 local brands joined the Fiesta this year. Shoppers could have a taste of refill shopping simply by bringing their own containers and purchasing products based on their needs. From this valuable experience, they learned to think twice before they buy, and therefore cutting down disposable wastes by avoiding unwanted packaging and leftovers.

The officiating ceremony on Oct 7 invited four honourable guests - Dr. Axel Harneit-Sievers, Director at Heinrich Böll Stiftung Hong Kong; Mr. Chong Chan-yau, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of CarbonCare InnoLab, Ms Alice Chan, PR and Marketing Manager of LUSH Asia Limited , as well as our star guest Ms Bonde Shum Lok-yi , who is also actress of VIU TV and well-known green lover- to kick start the "Zero Packaging Fiesta". They showed the "Magic keys for refill shopping" and tagline of the Fiesta - "No waste with refill shopping".

Nearly 40 naked shopping stall owners were invited to participate in the event, and more than 5,000 visitors attended to practice sustainable consumption habits. The workshops, sharing sessions, and educational exhibitions also attracted more than 100 visitors to learn how to reduce the use of plastic waste in daily life. In addition, visitors who bring their own containers and complete tasks can exchange popcorn or candy for free, attracting nearly 100 people to bring their own containers and actively practice naked shopping in their lives.
