The 2nd Hong Kong Outstanding Green Management Award concluded successfully. In partnership with the Hong Kong Association of Property Management Companies Limited (HKAPMC), participation surged to 102 properties — more than 2.5 times last year — spanning residential, commercial, industrial, shopping malls, and hotels. We are pleased to see many properties excel in source waste reduction, resource recycling, and environmental leadership, demonstrating strong overall resource management and firm commitment to ESG principles and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

This year’s results were outstanding, including 88 properties received Gold certification, 13 received Silver, 1 received Bronze. Over 85% of last year’s participants returned and again achieved Gold. Results were announced at the January 15 Awarding Ceremony, where former Secretary for the Environment Mr. Wong Kam-sing, GBS, JP, and President of HKAPMC Mr. Kevin Chu shared insights on waste and carbon reduction and green community building.

The event also promoted cross-sector collaboration (SDG 17). Participants showcased innovative practices that support:
SDG 11 — Sustainable cities and communities
SDG 12 — Responsible consumption and production
SDG 6 — Clean water and sanitation
SDG 7 — Affordable and clean energy
SDG 9 — Industry, innovation and infrastructure
SDG 13 — Climate action

Raising environmental standards in property management requires close cooperation among owners, management companies, and frontline staff. Through this Award, we hope to inspire more property management companies to embrace sustainability and build greener urban living spaces.
