This year in early June, Greeners Action held a press conference, announcing that the local supermarkets are lagging behind in terms of food waste reduction. Some of them only donate the leftover unsold food to other people, lacking the vision of comprehensive food waste reduction. In this regard, Greeners Action has carried out a survey on streets in 18 districts to collect citizens ' opinions on food waste reduction at supermarkets. According to the results, 93% citizens believe that the local supermarkets should follow overseas countries' practice of implementing a range of waste reduction measures, such as posting leftovers recipes on their webpages, stepping up waste reduction promotion by publications and in-store promotion, contacting suppliers proactively and reducing shelf stocks.
