Greeners Action, in collaboration with Friends of the Earth (HK), the Conservancy Association and Green Power, has made petition to the members of Legislative Council today, seizing the chance of the Public Works Subcommittee discussing the appropriation bill of 'Waste reduction and recycling, landfilling and incineration'. More than 10 members from the four environmental groups held up a banner about 'Petition for the government to implement tough measures of waste reduction' and a big chili, which represent the importance of waste reduction measures. They submitted a joint petition letters to the present members, calling on the government to adopt the six measures raised by environmental groups before expanding the landfills and building the incinerators.
