To encourage more people to join the recycling activity of ink and toner cartridges, Greeners Action and Print-Rite (A&J) Limited held the opening ceremony of the activity named “ink recycling” at East Point City. We announced that over 8,500 ink and toner cartridges are recycled in the past, and we have planned to promote this activity to more different locations, for example: large shopping malls, offices, estates, schools etc. Now, the following organizations are joining this activity, including nearly 10 property management companies and enterprises such as Sun Hung Kai Properties, Sino Property Services, Kai Shing Management Services Limited and also 8 colleges such as The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, City University of Hong Kong, The Education University of Hong Kong etc. They provide some recycling avenues and facilities for people to recycle used printing martials in a convenient way and reduce waste production.

Greeners Action invited Dr. Chan Ying-lung, Assistant Director of Environmental Protection Department, the participating organizations, as well as artists Sugar Club and Det Dik to attend its opening ceremony. They put a number of ink cartridges into a newly designed recycling bin and announced a series of recycling activities. At the same time, the opening ceremony showed the first Asian “Regenerated Green House” which used recycling as its theme. Its furniture is made by 1,200 recycled ink and toner cartridges. They were combined with green housing decoration elements and let Hong Kong citizens experience the unique green house. Starting from today to 23rd March, it would be open to public for free at East Point City. Every visitor can use their mobile phone to check in the “Regenerated Green House” by Facebook. Then, Print-Rite would donate $1 to Greeners Action for every check-in so as to support recycling and reusing ink and toner cartridges.
