Food Wise campaign “Less rice for $1 Less” opening ceremony
For the first time, the Greeners Action cooperated with the Olympian City to hold the “Less rice for $1 Less”, appealing people to order “less rice”, as well as awaking people to reduce food waste by ordering according to their need, so to ease burden of landfills that deal with as much as 3200 tonnes of food waste every day.
There are 11 eateries in Olympian City participating in “Less rice for $1 Less”. Starting September and for every Wednesday of the first week, people who have meal in these eateries when ordering “less rice” and having the amount of rice reduced by one third could enjoy $1 discount.
Legislative Councilor Mr Lee Chu-ming, Chairman of Hong Kong Federation of Restaurants and Related Trades Mr Chan Wing On, Vice-chairman of Association of Restaurant Managers Mr Cheung Chi Fai, Manager of Sino Properties Management Limited (shopping mall promotion) Mrs Irene So Choi, actress Patricia Liu, singer Kelly Jackie and Food Wise ambassador Cheung Ka Ming appeared in the opening ceremony to show their support.
