The first phase of environmental levy scheme on plastic shopping bags has been fully implemented. All merchants in Hong Kong, no matter what the size and nature of businesses are, except those are excluded from paying the levy. As long as plastic bags are provided to the customers, not less than 50 cents will be charged. Our organisation will continue to follow up with the situation against the regulation and the response from the public.
