Starbucks will not providing plastic straw or stirrer start from today. Since last year, Starbucks only provide plastic straw or stirrer upon request, thereby having a reduction of plastic tableware waste to 40% in 8 months. Further good news being is, both HK and Macau Starbucks announced a new plastic-free measure with Greeners Action, called “A change is brewing”, starting 11th of April, all branches of Starbucks, setting a goal of reducing 30% of plastic waste before2020, will replace plastic straw and stirrer with paper and wood. Starbucks, a sector of coffee catering industry, has already walked out this green step, it is hoped the remaining could follow suit for our better future.
