Beverage Cartons Clean Recycling Scheme
Greeners Action(GA) has always been committed to promoting waste reduction at source and recycling, GA hold "Beverage Cartons Clean Recycling Scheme" since 2019, and there are 30 recycling points at present.
Due to continuous promotion, and public awareness on beverage cartons recycling raise, GA collected over three tonnes of beverage cartons in 2022. If a 250ml carton weighted 10g, there were about 300 thousand beverage cartons being recycled.
To further encourage beverage cartons recycling, GA collaborates with schools, shopping malls, and residential housing estates to conduct upcycling workshops and educational promotion counters, which include the recycling process. By learning more about beverage carton recycling, participants are more likely to participate.
It is GA's goal to introduce more recycling points in Hong Kong, especially on estates, in shopping malls, and in commercial buildings.
