Mooncake Boxes Recycling Program 2026 is now open for applications!
As the Mid-Autumn Festival approaches, families are preparing to celebrate reunion and joy. Alongside the festivities, gift-giving and events often generate food waste and garbage. To embrace a greener way of celebrating, Greeners Action is launching the annual recycling program “Mooncake Boxes Recycling Program”. We will assist participating organizations in collecting and recycling the mooncake boxes (both paper and metal), which will then be delivered to the EPD-approved downstream recyclers for proper processing and local reuse.
The basic services include:
1. One-time on-site collection service for mooncake boxes (paper boxes and metal boxes only);
2. Electronic promotional posters for easy public promotion;
3. Recycling guidelines and eco-friendly tips for the Mid-Autumn Festival (to be released on the social media platforms);
4. Recycling report, providing recycling data for preparing ESG reports;
5. Certificate of recognition will be issued upon event completion.
This year, we will collaborate with Food Grace to set up mooncake recycling stations to collect surplus mooncakes, which will be shared to grassroots families, thereby putting into practice a holistic and green Mid-Autumn ESG vision.
Companies, organizations, and properties are welcome to participate. If you are interested in joining the program, please complete the online registration form by 18 September, 2026.
