Lai See Reuse and Recycle Program 2017 Opening Ceremony
The Greeners Action has been consecutively organizing “Lai See Reuse and Recycle Program” for 8 years. In previous seven years there are over 20 million red pockets recycled in total, which could reduce cutting over 1000 trees. With the support of 57 organizations this year, it is expected to have 8 million recycled red pockets in over 500 recycling points. The campaign is aimed at encouraging enterprises to reduce printing and distributing at source by adopting simple designed red pockets. Also, people are appealed to buy less new red pockets, developing habit of recycling and reusing “renewed red pocket” so to enhance green economy. The Greeners Action held opening ceremony today, 5th February, 2017, the Secretary for the Environment, Justice of Peace, KS WONG was invited as guest, he appealed the public to recycle and reduce resource wastage, starting from red pocket in Lunar New Year.
