減廢及回收工作

The Greeners Action worked with the EPD from October, 2018 to March, 2019 in organizing 4 large-scale environmental campaigns. We are playing a consultant role in the “Eastern District Council Fun Day”, the “Yau Ma Tei Festival”, the “Kowloon City Food Carnival cum Kowloon City Festival opening ceremony” and the ”Civic education cum Award ceremony in Tuen Mun” so to provide waste reduction measures.
We set up recycling stations in various green campaigns, green ambassadors will be deployed to educate citizens the knowledge of correct and clean recycling. Apart from this, we also set up food waste recycling stations for the “Yau Ma Tei Festival”, the “Kowloon City Food Carnival” and taught citizens how to recycle food waste. We will conduct food audit work for the whole campaign. By calculating the amount of waste generated, we could give practical suggestions on waste reduction to organizers.
For continuous improvement on waste reduction measures, the Greeners Action hope in the future district-based campaigns there could be more active support for green from organizers.
