The Greeners-Action launched a 2-year “Zero food waste in campus” in 17 primary and secondary schools aimed at reducing lunch food waste. The campaigns comprised of “Food wised student” and “Green pioneer”, in which food wise seminars, food wise in lunch competitions, turning-food-waste-to-fertilizer workshops and visits to farm etc.
After a year, a lot of schools show good responses to waste reduction. For example, a school without participation in green campaign before has built up idea of food wise through this campaign. The school even put this into routine lessons, in which students to recycle food waste, plant using fertilizer, cook with sharing, enabling them to observe and experience the life cycle so to cherish what they have.
